Hello!

The idea for You Chose War came from one of the worst experiences in my life. On December 19, 2024, I met a girl on a dating app who I immediately connected with. Within the first 20 minutes of our conversation, she made it clear she was interested in taking things down a more intimate route. After we shared pictures and videos,  they blackmailed me and threatened to share the explicit media with my work and everyone I knew if I did not send them a large amount of money. I stalled for as long as I could while I went to my local police station. I received message after message from the scammer who said that my career and life were over. The thought of paying them stuck in my mind for a while, but as I spoke with the officer, it became an easy decision not to pay and take my chances. When I decided not to pay, the scammer sent a text saying, "You Chose War."

 

As I lay in bed that night, the emotions were so incredibly real and raw that I knew I wanted to turn bad into good. One thing that pushed me to create this, beyond my raw emotions, was something that I learned while at the police station. The officer I spoke with told me that in my city alone, which hosts a population of just over 25,000 people, reported this kind of scam at least 1,000 times in 2024 (4% of the population). What about the number of people who did not report their scam? How many people were the target of a scam in Milwaukee? Chicago? New York? Los Angeles? Italy? France? Germany?

 

What started as the most terrifying experience of my life became the creation of a place where the whole world can come together to combat the darkness that is scammers.

 

With the advancement in technology, scammers have a large arsenal of ways to attack people.  It is extremely hard to stop them, but that's why this website is so important. It's a difficult road ahead, but it's worth it if we can make the world a more peaceful place.
